Tread refers to the aluminum decking used to form the walking surface of Rampit USA ramp and platform systems. Individual tread pieces interconnect to create a continuous surface across each ramp or platform section.

Two tread types are used depending on the application. Ramps and commercial platforms use medium tread, while residential platforms use light tread. Medium tread is sold by the foot and includes two configurations within a ramp section. The first piece, known as starter tread, is open on both the front and back. All remaining pieces are standard medium tread, which is open on the front and closed on the back. Light tread is used on platforms only and does not require a starter piece.
